Fineliner on paper

I started this sketch on a sunny lunch break from work, sometime in the month of April 2015. At the time I was living and working in Stuttgart, things didn’t go as I would have wished, I missed my friends and dancing.
On that April-morning I looked for the sketchbook I had bought the year before and hardly used, threw it in my bag and decided to try and draw again.

I looked forward to lunch, the spring weather was calling me outside and so I walked with my workmate to the park. After a few shy attempts at drawing, I let myself get overwhelmed by the blank page and decided to rather enjoy the company and the nice conversation I had with my colleague.

The sketchbook wandered to the drawer it had come out of a few days before and remained there until I was packing to move to my new place, outside Stuttgart.
It wasn’t until I moved again, back to Albstadt, and we went on a holiday to the Baltic Sea that autumn, that I looked for the company of my sketchbook again.
There, in Heiligenhafen, I finally found the calmness and the ease to draw again.
I finished this sketch on the 1st of September 2015 and with it, started a whole new chapter.
