Commissioning Art by Leia Tatucu

What is your creative process for custom artwork?

My creative process starts by understanding your vision and preferences. We’ll discuss ideas, themes, colors, and specific elements you’d like included. I’ll then create initial sketches or concepts for your approval. After incorporating feedback, I move on to crafting the final piece using high-quality materials to ensure durability and beauty. You’ll receive updates throughout the process to ensure the artwork aligns with your expectations and tells your unique story. Curious about my style, pricing, process, or timeline? Ready to bring your custom artwork vision to life? Head over to the Commissions page on Fineliner Diaries for all the details—you’re just a click away from your next masterpiece!

What materials and techniques do you use in your artwork?

My creative process is a dynamic blend of materials and techniques, thoughtfully tailored to bring each project’s unique vision to life. I draw from an eclectic palette of mediums—fineliner pens for intricate details, watercolors for their delicate fluidity, acrylics and spray paints for bold, expressive strokes, and printed textiles for tactile depth. I also incorporate texture paste, resin pigment paste with clear resin, and digital illustrations to push the boundaries of creativity.

My techniques are just as varied, spanning from traditional methods like watercolor painting, collage creation, and fine linework to modern approaches such as digital editing with Adobe programs. I love experimenting with layering, blending, and texture to create depth and dimension, ensuring every piece feels alive.

Ultimately, my choice of materials and techniques evolves with the scope and aesthetic of each project, making every creation distinctive, intentional, and meaningful. No two pieces are ever the same—they’re crafted to reflect the story they are meant to tell.

What information do I need to provide when requesting a custom piece?

When requesting a custom piece, please provide:

  • A description of your vision, including themes, colors, and specific design elements.
  • Desired dimensions or size.
  • Reference images or inspiration that align with your vision.
  • Meaningful details or personal touches you'd like reflected in the final piece.

But no need to worry about forgetting anything! We’ve designed a unique form for your initial consultation session—right at the start of the commissioning process. It’s our way of ensuring we capture every detail, so nothing gets overlooked and everything runs smoothly from the very beginning.

Can I request changes after seeing a preview of the commissioned artwork?

Yes, revisions can be requested during the conceptual phase. Two rounds of revisions are included in the commission price to ensure the design matches your vision.

How does the commissioning process work from start to finish?

To secure a slot on the waitlist, a 50% deposit is required. This deposit is refundable until the digital prototype is finalized. Once the production phase begins—whether painting, printing, or pouring—the deposit becomes non-refundable.

The process includes:

  1. An initial consultation to discuss your vision, preferences, and details.
  2. A detailed preliminary sketch for review with two rounds of revisions included.
  3. Finalizing the concept and moving into creation, with regular updates provided.
  4. Upon completion and final payment, the artwork is carefully packaged and delivered.

Head over to the Commissions page on Fineliner Diaries for all the details—you’re just a click away from your next masterpiece!

How long does it typically take to complete a commissioned artwork?

The average turnaround time for commissions is 3–4 months, though this may vary depending on the complexity, size, and medium of the piece. Simpler or smaller works can be completed within a few days to weeks, while larger, more detailed projects may take several weeks or months. Timelines will be thoroughly discussed during the consultation phase to ensure clear communication and realistic expectations.

How are the finished artworks packaged and shipped?

Completed artworks are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely. Each piece is wrapped securely, and additional protective materials are used as needed. Shipping options and preferences will be finalized during the last stages of the process, as they primarily depend on the artwork's size, weight, and delivery destination.

Do you offer virtual staging to help visualize the artwork in my space?

Yes, we offer virtual staging services to help you preview how the artwork will look in your space.

We love collaborating with the IAZZU app for Leia Tatucu’s art because it provides art collectors with the ability to virtually stage artwork anywhere with a stable internet connection. Using the IAZZU app and augmented reality, you can visualize Leia Tatucu’s portfolio pieces in your space, giving you confidence in your decision.

For commissioned work, the app can also be used during the conceptual stages upon request and with prior agreement from the artist. This ensures the piece perfectly aligns with your vision.

Do you work with specific sizes or formats for custom pieces?

I create artwork in a wide range of sizes and formats to suit your needs. During the consultation phase, we’ll discuss your desired dimensions, the type of artwork, and the estimated timeline for completion. This ensures the final piece aligns perfectly with your space and vision.

Why are your artworks so expensive? I truly admire your work but, unfortunately, I can't afford any originals right now.

I completely understand, and I truly appreciate your admiration for my work. While my artworks may seem expensive, their pricing reflects much more than just the finished piece. Each artwork involves significant material costs, years of training and expertise in various techniques and mediums, as well as additional expenses as a fitting studio space, taxes, insurance, packaging, and shipping.

I know that investing in an original piece can feel out of reach for some, and I completely respect that. Art is a personal and lasting investment, which is why I also offer fine art prints as a more affordable option. Many of my original works, including some sold pieces, are available as open or limited edition fine art prints in the shop.

If there’s a specific artwork you’re interested in that’s not currently available as a print, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to see if we can make it available for you. Thank you again for your interest and support!

Do you offer licensing options for your designs and artwork?

What does the licensing process entail, and what rights are included?

Can commissioned artwork be used for commercial purposes with proper licensing?

Yes, commissioned artwork can be used commercially with proper licensing agreements in place.

Do you offer exclusive licensing options for businesses or brands?

Yes, we offer exclusive licensing options for businesses and brands looking for unique designs. The terms of exclusivity and usage rights will be detailed in a licensing agreement, tailored to the agreed-upon terms and pricing.

Are digital design files available for personal or commercial use?

Yes, digital files are available for both personal and commercial use, with certain limitations. The difference between personal and commercial use depends on how the files are utilized, which also affects pricing. Specific licensing terms apply to commercial use.

Do you collaborate with clients on specific design ideas or themes?

Absolutely! Collaboration is where the magic happens. I love teaming up with clients to transform their unique ideas into stunning realities. When our visions align, it’s like a creative spark ignites, and together, we bring their themes and concepts to life in a way that feels fresh, inspired, and uniquely theirs.

Art Leasing

Do you offer artwork rental or leasing services?

Yes, we provide artwork rental options perfect for businesses or events. Whether it’s a temporary installation or staging for a special occasion, our collection can transform your space with style and creativity—without the long-term commitment.

How does art leasing work?

Think of it like borrowing beauty! You select a collection of original pieces, pay a small monthly fee, and enjoy them in your space for as long as you’d like. Want a refresh? No problem—swap pieces every quarter to keep your environment vibrant and inspiring. It’s the perfect blend of creativity and flexibility.

Can I choose the artwork myself?

We work with you to curate a collection that perfectly reflects your style, space, and personality, while considering the availability of Leia's original artworks. Whether you prefer bold, eye-catching pieces or subtle, sophisticated designs, we’ll help you find the perfect artwork to bring your vision to life.

What happens if I fall in love with a piece?

We understand—some art resonates deeply with the soul. If you find a piece you simply can’t part with, let us know! You’ll have the option to purchase it and make it yours forever. Plus, we’ll credit a portion of your leasing payments toward the final price, so you can keep the art you can’t imagine living without.

What’s Included in the Leasing Cost?

Your leasing fee covers more than just the original artwork. It includes expert curation services, the flexibility to swap pieces every quarter, and a touch of timeless elegance delivered straight to your door. No hidden fees—just effortless access to beautiful art.

For delivery and installation, there is a flat rate determined by the location of the artwork's temporary home. This cost is shared upfront after the initial consultation and is clearly outlined in the leasing contract.

Can individuals lease art, or is this just for businesses?

While our art leasing service is primarily popular with businesses, individuals are more than welcome to explore this option too. Whether you want to add warmth to your home or enhance your office space, our collections are designed to suit any environment. Big spaces, small spaces, personal or professional—art is for everyone. We love seeing Leia's creations transform spaces and bring joy and balance, just as the artist intended when bringing each piece to life.

Do you offer short-term leases?

Our minimum lease period is three months, but we understand the value of flexibility when it comes to creativity. Whether you're planning a special event, a pop-up exhibit, or a short-term project, we've got you covered. Let’s connect for an initial consultation to discuss your needs, explore your options, and create a customized arrangement. Together, we’ll design pricing and terms that align seamlessly with your vision.

How often can I refresh my collection?

Quarterly! Every three months, you can swap out your current pieces for fresh ones, keeping your space dynamic and inspiring all year round.

What if I don’t love the art once it’s in my space?

No problem at all—art is deeply personal, and it’s important to us that you absolutely love what you see every day. That’s why we take the time to get to know you, your style, and your space during our initial consultation (and any follow-ups). We work thoughtfully to ensure your collection feels just right from the start. But if something still doesn’t click, we’ve got you covered. Just let us know, and we’ll collaborate to adjust your collection until it’s a perfect reflection of you and your space.

Do you offer discounts for bulk orders, multiple commissions, or leasing artwork?

Whether you're purchasing original pieces, commissioning multiple artworks, or exploring leasing options, we’re happy to discuss tailored pricing to suit your needs. Bulk orders or multiple commissions often qualify for special discounts. Let’s chat during your consultation to craft a plan that works for you—because art should be as flexible as it is inspiring!

Artwork Copyrights

Who owns the rights to commissioned artwork?

As the creator, I always retain the copyright to all artwork I produce—this includes personal and commercial commissions—unless we explicitly agree otherwise in the purchase contract. If you'd like to own the copyright, we can discuss and negotiate terms and pricing to ensure clarity and fairness for both parties.

For personal commissions, unless specified in writing, I hold full copyright ownership, allowing me to photograph, digitally edit, or create fine art prints from the completed work. For commercial projects, copyright and usage rights will be carefully outlined in a tailored licensing agreement.

Think of it this way: my art is my signature. While I’m thrilled to bring your vision to life, copyrights are the way I preserve my creative legacy. That said, I’m always open to customizing arrangements to match your needs—let’s collaborate and create something remarkable!

Portfolio and Shipping

Can I view previous commissions or your portfolio for inspiration?

Of course! Dive into my portfolio on the website under the Gallery section, where you’ll find a collection of pieces—both sold and available—that showcase my work. For an even more interactive experience, download the IAZZU app. This amazing tool lets you visualize artwork in your own space using augmented reality. Even if the piece you love has been sold, you can still virtually stage it to spark creativity, guide your vision, or use it as inspiration for a custom commission.

Fallen for a piece that’s no longer available? Don’t worry! Head over to the shop—it might be offered as a fine art print. If it’s not there, let us know! Your enthusiasm could inspire a fresh print run. Let’s bring your vision to life!

Do you offer international shipping for custom artwork?

Currently, our shipping services are limited to countries within the European Union and Switzerland. Shipping options and timelines for commissioned artwork will be finalized during the consultation sessions.
