This fine art print is a modern take on the traditional Romanian sheepskin vest - pieptar (pronounced pyep-tar), celebrating its rich embroidery and masterful artistry. The artwork reinterprets the iconic circular sun symbols, or "wheels," that are a hallmark of these historical garments, honouring the history and craftsmanship woven into every thread.

The specific vest that inspired this piece has been expertly described by ethnologist and PhD candidate Alexandra Negrilă as a woman's open-front sheepskin vest from the Caraș-Severin County, dating back to the second quarter of the 20th century. Its surface is almost entirely covered in dense, multicolored wool and cotton embroidery, featuring geometric and stylized plant motifs like rosettes, flowers, and tulips, all trimmed with black lamb fur.
