"Geometric Motif Pattern from Back Apron" is an open edition fine art print available with dimensions of - 50 by 70cm (47 by 67cm with a 3cm white border)
Artwork Description:
In traditional regional attire for women, elaborately decorated aprons of different lengths are worn over a white underdress—one at the front and one at the back. The back apron, known locally as the "opreg" in this part of the Banater region mountains, is considerably shorter than the front apron, often called a "patch" due to its smaller size. Despite its dimensions, the "patch" features exquisite floral or geometric designs. I adapted this geometric motif from a "patch" that showcased vibrant colored geometric motifs against a dark background.
About the printing process:
Giclée Inkjet printing, a method where ink is meticulously sprayed onto paper in a fine dot pattern known as a half-tone, endows prints with a distinct fine art feel through its use of textured papers. This technique is celebrated for its ability to produce prints with deeply saturated colors, thanks to the vibrant pigments forming the inks. It offers a wide selection in paper thickness and texture, catering to various artistic preferences. The brilliance of Giclée prints lies in their vivid and saturated hues, setting them apart in the realm of art reproduction. Artists and illustrators favor Giclée prints for their precision in replicating the original artwork's medium. Furthermore, the archival quality of Giclée prints is remarkable, enduring approximately 40 years in daylight and up to 200 years in optimal dark storage conditions, preserving the legacy of the artwork for future generations.
The paper we love to use at Fineliner Diaries for our fine art prints:
The paper used for the Giclée fine art prints of "Threads of Heritage" is Hahnemühle Pearl. Hahnemüle Pearl has a smooth orange peel texture and a bright neutral white base, it creates really natural black and white images and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail too. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction give the image the feel of an oil painting. This is one of the most suitable of the Giclée Art Paper range for mounting.
